Boro textiles were made by impoverished Japanese people from reused and recycled indigo dyed cotton rags. patches are sawn piece by piece and in most cases the beautiful arrangements of stitches are born of necessity and were not planned by the maker.This is what inspired me to create a collection of handmade knitted textiles.
